Support the FedEx SmartPost maintenance program by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to material handling equipment and facilities. Provide the technical expertise to diagnose and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical and control system failures as they relate to the hub’s auto-sort/offline-sort equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform assigned maintenance work in accordance with instructions of the work order or contained in applicable equipment maintenance manual.
EDUCATION
Satisfactory completion of a two year minimum, post secondary Vocational/ Technical school of study in one or more of the following areas; electrical, electronics, mechanical systems or maintenance engineering and 2-4 years industrial experience; or
High school diploma or its equivalent and 4-6 years industrial maintenance experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Knowledge in the use of personal computers and common office software.
Knowledge of the hub’s sort/shipping applications to the extent that the isolation of equipment malfunctions can be easily diagnosed.
Demonstrate the ability to read, interpret, understand and comply with technical instructions/manuals.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance techniques and procedures.
Knowledge of motor control methods.
Welding and fabricating experience a plus
Knowledge of variable speed frequency drives and inverters.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics diagrams.
Ability to effectively communicate with others.
Ability to proficiently communicate verbally and in writing using the English language.
