This role sits in the Strategic Analytics & Intelligence (SAI) Team of Commercial, Medical and Government Affairs (CMG). The Data Management & Architecture (DMA) team within SAI plays a key role in managing the data lifecycle from strategy, acquisition, management, and governance across the portfolio. The team also plays a critical role in the global programs, with the aim to shape the data needs to enable Roche's global customer engagement vision, strategy, and solutions.

The Opportunity:

The Datalake Strategy and Enablement Sr Manager will be responsible for the development, management, and delivery of a robust data strategy and architecture, to enable data lake solutions for a measurement automation data science product (MARS) and the Medical functional domain.

• As a Data Lead and Oasis Subject matter expert for MARS, the individual will work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, architect and recommend appropriate data solutions.

• You will serve as one of the Data Product Owners for Medical functional domain pertaining to Enterprise Data Lake to drive and enable data integration strategies for analytics and broader enterprise use cases in partnership with other technical functions across the organization.

• You will participate in various data or systems projects to drive design, implement and establish best practices

• Partner, Develop and pull through governance to enable efficiency and effectiveness in data operations

• Synthesize business and technical stakeholder needs to identify, document, and influence short-term and long-term opportunities for CMG data strategy

Who You Are:

• You hold a Bachelor's Degree (computer science, engineering or other technical disciplines are a plus)

• You have 8+ years of previous experience working with key pharmaceutical/biotechnology data assets such as Customers, Sales, Claims, Digital, Medical, and/or other secondary data.

• Strong experience in data management and architecture, data analytics and data/governance processes

• Experience in managing data projects and data vendors in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry

• Knowledge of cloud platforms AWS services, SQL, pharma CRM solutions like Salesforce, OCE, Veeva CRM is a strong plus;

• This position is based in South San Francisco and relocation benefits are not being offered.

Preferred:

• MBA or other related graduate-level degree

• Demonstrated ability to structure and conduct analyses to generate insight and recommendations

• Excellent problem-solving skills, details-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficient in interacting with Leadership

• Must demonstrate knowledge of, or aptitude to learn, business information systems, databases, and business analytics relevant to the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industries

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of CA is $150,500 - $279,500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
