Responsibilities
  1. Respects and maintains consumer's rights and confidentiality and demonstrates a positive, caring attitude toward all consumers, staff, guests, and service providers.
  2. Responsible for oversight and provision of ACCES-VR funded Core Rehabilitation Services to meet program needs and ensure adherence to all contract terms for funders.
  3. Provide supervision and/or mentoring to assigned staff, (VC, VRE, etc.), to meet program needs.
  4. Responsible for the scheduling and/or provision of services including but not limited to conducting intakes, vocational assessments, developing paid or unpaid work experience, job coaching, facilitating classes, etc.
  5. Provide community outreach and market vocational programs to referral agents including but not limited to ACCESS-VR, Community Businesses, High School Personnel, family members, therapists, Medicaid Service Coordinators, etc.
  6. Collaborate with management team as the program evolves to develop and implement new services and provide necessary mentoring and training to promote team development and growth.
  7. Responsible for tracking and submitting ACCES-VR reports and billing on a monthly basis.
  8. Must develop good working relationships with all funders including ACCES-VR, Social Security, Employment Network (EN) and OMH system.
  9. Must adhere to WorkGuide procedures and regulations.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

Education:

Master's degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling or related area such as personnel, counseling and guidance, and one-year experience in vocational rehabilitation or other suitable fields; or Bachelor's degree and two years' relevant experience in such areas as industrial arts, occupational therapy, rehabilitation counseling, teaching, or human service experience in community programs; or a combination of experience and training, such as experience as evaluator in a community rehabilitation program, or experience in industry and completion of a specialized rehabilitation-related courses which in the judgement of the agency is substantially equivalent to the standards of this position.

Experience:

Relevant experience should include working with adults and/or youth with DD, LD, CD, MH and/or deaf or hard of hearing. Previous experience conducting vocational rehabilitation services, vocational assessment, internships with community -based employers required, teaching experience and/or experience in industry. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. ASL is a plus, but not required. Must be well organized and be able to work with limited supervision. Must be computer literate.

Other:

Must have a current valid NYS Driver's license that meets agency's clean driving record policy. Must have ability to work a flexible schedule. Must have reliable transportation and vehicle to perform job duties. Must be able to work standing, sitting, and bending.
