Job Summary

The Training Specialist is responsible for the successful design, development and implementation of training at the Plant Level. Work closely with the Training Manager in developing and implementing training plans. Design needs/tasks analysis, develops training materials, implements project plans for appropriate locations, schedules training sessions, writes training modules, prepares protocols and designs evaluation tools. Responsible for assisting assigned departments with the execution of Learning Management System. This position reports directly in to the Training Manager and has no direct reports.

The Training Specialist is responsible for training all new and current employees and assessing competencies across multiple positions within a department. Effectively communicate to employees at any position level when conducting training sessions. Modify training sessions for re-training to verify that the information is communicated at the adequate level of comprehension. Meet with Department Managers, Supervisors and Qualified Trainers to prioritize training and re-training needs. Work as a team with their training counterparts at other APP facilities to verify that training programs are being developed, delivered and implemented in tandem where appropriate.

Starting salary - $59,190 - $62,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Developing training solutions that are directly aligned with cGMP requirements, using a mix of training media including instructor led, WBT, CBT and blended learning.
  • Providing guidance and leadership to the qualified trainers in designing, developing, and evaluating learning and performance improvement solutions.
  • Works with department members one-on-one, as needed (observing, collecting data, advising, evaluating, coaching, re-training, etc.).
  • Pilots training modules, evaluates performance and provides feedback to Department Managers.
  • Designs, develops, and presents training programs. Evaluates training and initiates improvements where necessary.
  • Works with Department Managers on an on-going basis to prioritize training needs and verify effectiveness of training.
  • Forward thinking seeks opportunities to positively impact the site.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS/BA with 3 to 5 years of Quality or Training experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Superior knowledge of Quality and cGMP regulations (21 CFR parts 11, 210 and 211) for the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to train employees.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to design, develop, implement and lead dynamic presentations that are directed and focused at the departments educational, cultural and business needs.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.
  • Must be available to travel between Illinois facilities.
  • Superior computer expertise, specifically in Microsoft Office and data base software.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to numerous changes and priorities in the Training Department.
  • Due to the nature of the cGMP environment, attention to detail and error free work is critical.
  • Person must be a self-starter. Limited supervisor oversight.
