Acara Solutions is looking for a CNC Wood Shop Operator for our client in Clarence, NY.


Pay: $18/hour

Hours: 6:30am-4pm

Temp to Perm

Responsibilities:

- Prepare the CNC machine for operation by loading the necessary design files, selecting appropriate tooling (bits), and ensuring proper workpiece placement and alignment on the machine bed.

- Create or load CNC programs that define the tool paths and operations needed to produce the desired wood products. This involves using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.

- Perform routine maintenance, such as changing tools and ensuring they are properly sharpened.

- Load and secure wood materials onto the CNC machine's worktable, ensuring proper positioning and clamping to prevent movement during cutting or carving.

- Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, precision, and quality. Make necessary adjustments to the machine settings or program parameters to achieve the desired results.

- Diagnose and resolve minor machine malfunctions, tool breakages, or programming errors. Coordinate with maintenance personnel for more complex issues.

- Maintain accurate records of production data, including run times, material usage, tool changes, and any issues encountered during operation.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

- 3+ years machine operating experience

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

- Operators should be comfortable with CAD/CAM software, G-code programming, and interpreting technical drawings.

- Strong math skills help ensure accurate setups and precise machining.

- Effective communication skills

- Keeping work areas tidy, managing tool inventory, and maintaining accurate records contribute to an organized and efficient workspace.
