Job Description

What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer! In this role, you will inspect, audit, and review data and documentation coming from Engineering to ensure proper processes have been followed. There is also a quality assurance component involving examining life cycle artifacts for correctness and completeness. You will also support software and complex electronic hardware development projects and design changes required by production and field support. Your activities are performed as outlined in industry standards, such as DO-178B/C, DO-254, and ARP4754A, as required by the FAA and by our customers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and is passionate about ensuring quality in the design and testing of state-of-the-art avionics products.

This hybrid on-site position is at our Headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the manager of Design Assurance Engineering

How You Will Do It:

  • Develop and execute quality and process assurance plans
  • Conduct process audits
  • Review, analyze, and assess life cycle data through periodic sampling
  • Detect, evaluate, and track deficiencies in processes, plans, and standards
  • Perform process improvement activities
  • Perform root cause analysis, and identify and implement corrective and preventive actions

What We Look For:

Required

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software quality assurance.
  • Strong leadership, communications, facilitation, presentation, training, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with:
    • Root cause analysis methods and techniques
    • Process improvement methods and techniques
    • Process, functional, and configuration audits
    • Risk assessment and management
  • Knowledge of and experience in product development, including:
    • Requirements definition and management
    • Test case/procedure definition
    • Configuration management and change control
    • Problem reporting management and resolution
    • Validation and verification of life cycle data
    • Life cycles and process models (e.g. waterfall, Agile)

Desired

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Minimum two years of experience in aerospace/avionics or another safety critical industry
  • Familiarity with AS9100, AS9115, and CMMI
  • Working knowledge of DO-178B/C, DO-254, and ARP4754A
  • Exposure to C/C++, Python and VHDL programming languages
  • Adept at working in Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Tools - DOORS, Microsoft Azure DevOps, Subversion, Git, compilers, linkers
