Aon's Capital Advisory group is seeking to hire a Senior Analyst - Aon Reinsurance Solutions.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst in our Ratings Advisory team. Primary office locations include Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, Northern New Jersey, and Philadelphia. Remote workstyle is an option but depends on candidate qualifications.

About Aon Capital Advisory:

Aon's Capital Advisory group is a firm-wide joint venture that combines expertise across various Aon disciplines, including Ratings Advisory, Corporate Finance, Analytics and Reinsurance Solutions. The goal of the Capital Advisory group is to provide objective and tailored holistic advice on the capital supporting clients' business and how it can be optimized and be most efficiently utilized. The Ratings Advisory team provides customized support to clients for all their rating agency needs, including capital modeling, profitability analysis, peer benchmarking, and strategic positioning for the most optimal rating outcome.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

The role is client facing and the colleague will interact with both internal Aon Reinsurance client teams as well as clients directly. The role will be focused on Rating Advisory support, where the colleague will be responsible for advising reinsurance clients through rating agency criteria and capital management strategies. Colleague will also be responsible for managing client relationships, providing expertise regarding rating agency criteria, and developing innovative tools and thought leadership research on behalf of clients. Colleague will be expected to work alongside other Capital Advisory functions, at times, such as Corporate Finance (M&A Advisory) and ReSolutions (Structured Reinsurance team), with the goal of growing client relationships.

The individual will work in a team environment on a variety of tasks, including:

  • Rating Agency Capital Modeling and Analysis - provide analytics and rating advisory support using rating agency capital models and company's financial statements and forecasts
  • Synthesize Information and Make Recommendations - research and analyze data and client financials through the lens of rating agency criteria; proactively identifying alternative ideas and solutions to meet client goals
  • Support Rating Agency and Board-level objectives - assist senior management in creating presentations and recommendations by developing expertise in rating agency methodologies
  • Establish and Maintain Client Relationships - build internal relationships within Aon and become a direct point of contact for Aon clients
  • Industry Research - track (re)insurance industry trends and translate that information into insights that aid client recommendations
  • Special Projects - participate in special projects and Thought Leadership content to further Aon's market presence
  • Work Across Capital Advisory Teams - provide support and collaborate with other capital advisory functions, including structured reinsurance solutions, corporate finance/investment banking, and capital markets transactions

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of insurance industry experience
  • Ability to analyze insurance company financial statements
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Experience with industry databases (S&P Global Market Intelligence/SNL and/or BestLink) are a plus
  • Knowledge of insurance STAT and GAAP accounting concepts is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree ideally in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or related major
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • CFA or CPA designation a plus

Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience with data analysis and research concepts
  • Prior experience with rating agency and regulatory capital models is a plus
  • Focused, with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills, client management and communication capabilities
  • Excellent presentation skills with ability to synthesize content from multiple sources
  • Ability to perform under time pressures
  • Self-directed with experience managing multiple, concurrent projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $80,000 to $107,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
