Job Description

The Balance Sheet Mgmt Group Mgr is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

Job Description

This position will join the Citi Treasury Investments (CTI) Business Initiatives team within the Finance Organization. The Citi Treasury Investments group (CTI) manages over a $500 billion portfolio consisting of Issued Debt, Intercompany Borrowings & Placements, AFS/HTM Securities, and Derivatives. CTI is responsible for managing central liquidity and investment portfolio, executing the foreign exchange hedge program, and providing US dollar financing to other trading desk, management of the USD interest rate risk in banking book to achieve Citi's desired net interest position, and issuance of benchmark debt and structured notes, credit card securitizations and liability management for all capital securities issued through Citigroup and CBNA.

The CTI Solutions team supports a range of CTI business transformation initiatives that are central to the operation of Citigroup's global businesses. The CTI Business Initiatives team works closely with stakeholders to define, drive, and execute end-to-end process design and implementation efforts across Treasury activities, which span global Treasury groups, Finance functions, infrastructure partners in Enterprise Infrastructure Operations & Technology (EIO&T) and business partners in Institutional Client Group (ICG) and Global Consumer Bank (GCB). The team leads Treasury's regulatory agenda and all internal reviews to identify priorities, coordinate efforts and track progress, and define and implement best practices.

The role sits in the Citi Treasury Investment team and is responsible for the development, execution, and implementation of CTI's strategic business initiatives and manages the departments portfolio of projects. The role requires a senior project manager with extensive business transformational leadership experience as well as strong communication skills with the ability to distil complex information into concise, clear summaries to gain consensus and direction from project teams and senior management. The role includes project management activities, business analysis and running central project management office



Responsibilities:

  • Writing of BRD, FRD, project plans, and lead testing execution.
  • Collaborate with CTI business unit managers, CTI trading desks, Product Control, Risk and Operations to understand the key business problems while partnering with Technology to identify best-in-class, sustainable solutions
  • Chairing weekly working group meetings with stakeholders across CTI trading desks, product control, risk, operations & technology
  • Succinctly presenting project updates including risks, issues, and general progress at an executive level
  • Clear summarizing of key discussion points and action items upon meeting closure
  • Partnering with accountable participants to ensure prompt follow-ups are completed
  • Tracking general progress and escalating all risks and issues on a daily basis

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree required. Graduate level degree a plus, PMP Certification a plus
  • 10+ years of experience within financial services or consulting
  • 5 years of experience within project management and the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Extensive experience with Project management lifecycles, including long term roadmap, key milestones and SDLC life cycle
  • Significant intellectual curiosity and desire to learn how Citi Treasury functions
  • Superior attention to detail and diligence sufficient to withstand scrutiny of a senior audience
  • Strong team collaborator and partnering skills
  • Abstract critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Treasury product knowledge (Money Market, FX, Swaps, Bonds etc.)
  • Technical skills required: MS Visio, MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Education:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably Masters degree
