We support an extensive range of Capital Markets products and services including Fixed Income (FX, Rates, Credit, Muni, Cash and Derivatives) where Citi is consistently a dominant top 3 player in the market, Equity (Cash, Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, Futures, Listed Derivs, FXPB) where Citi has a signi?cant growth program to continue to build out its capabilities and services; and Syndicates where we support both FI and EQ new issues and IPOs.

Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and have signi?cant impact across the lifecycle of a trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front O?ce Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having signi?cant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group, dedicated to overseeing the Organizational service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a ?rst-class experience when doing business with Citi.

Our Business Intelligence and Process Re-engineering group works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges. We partner with Citi's innovation labs to drive optimization, and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.

Our Technology partners develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. We have re-imagined how to provide technology and service in our domain through the alignment of our team vision, culture, and aggressive retirement plan for legacy applications and adoption of a micro-based containerized cloud environment. We encourage our people to create, explore and be adventurous whilst taking measured risk, adopting safe practices to protect the ?rm. Data lineage and optimization is core to how we develop our eco system. We are growing our capabilities using arti?cial intelligence, natural language processing and machine learning.

Fed Settlements is responsible for the settlement of Fixed Income securities across various trading desks and depositories. Candidate should have a proven settlement or operations background. The manager of the team recruits, leads, empowers, develops and motivates staff, maximizing individual contributions and professional growth and development. The manager works closely with technology leads to test technology solutions and improvements and acts as a subject matter expert. The manager is responsible for daily oversight of multiple depositories on CBNA Settlements, managing exceptions, attending meetings, providing solutions to our partners on future flow, weekly and monthly reporting of exceptions, identifying operational risk and escalating as appropriate.



Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and leading daily operations of a Fed/CBNA Settlement team; maintaining a culture and environment where processes, risks and controls are continually monitored with potential risks escalated as appropriate in a timely manner
  • Timely resolution of fails and breaks as delays or errors can potentially lead to financial and/or reputational risk
  • Responsible for demonstrating control, minimizing errors and improving team metrics by preventing escalations, reducing breaks/age, and improving client (internal and external) experience
  • Acting as a key point of contact between internal and external partners, our clients and the businesses we support
  • Identify inefficiencies in daily tasks and lead improvement(s) in processing productivity and risk mitigation
  • Continued engagement and face off with our business, technology and operations partners
  • Support the development of an effective control framework that fully meets Audit, Compliance and Regulatory requirements
  • Supporting management in the implementation of successful people and engagement strategies to help attract, develop and retain a diverse team
  • Coaching and mentoring our people, ensuring effective one to one discussions
  • Follows established procedures to identify problems related to securities settlements that require investigation or research
  • Assists in resolving problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents
  • Provides leadership and guidance when reviewing business or industry initiatives and ensuring successful implementation, and sound controls are in place
  • Demonstrates an intermediate level of understanding of products and processes, and of how duties relate integrate with others in the team and closely related teams
  • Utilizes strong communication, interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders, and to exchange potentially complex sensitive information, while being sensitive to audience diversity


Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree or 2-5 years of relevant experience. Proven track record within capital markets operations, fixed income settlement experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a structured, high volume, time sensitive, high risk and demanding environment.

  • Strong risk management and control mindset
  • Provides evaluative judgement based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations, draws on diverse range of internal and external sources.
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  • Prior regulatory / risk management / capital markets experience a plus
