Job Description

Specific Responsibilities:
•    Design responsibility for motors up to and including sustainment 
•    Develop and maintain Motor Technology Roadmaps.
•    Develop and maintain Motor Platforms
•    Interface to all Business Units and sites (global and domestic) for strategic aspects of motor technology. 
•    Develop and enhance relationships with support functions (drafting, mechanical design, etc).
•    Facilitate make/buy decisions based on knowledge of expertise and capabilities in and around Moog as well as that of key suppliers.
•    Advocate for IR&D activities and facilitate their completion.
•    Key contributor for motors including RFPs and program support while insuring alignment with platform solutions.
•    Ensure effectiveness of tools and processes and fill gaps as necessary.
•    Coordinate mechanical packaging of magnetic design into end item whether standalone motor, integrated actuator assembly or both.  
•    Definition and maintenance of Motor Work Packages.
•    Staying current on trends in motor technology; active participation in industry consortiums
•    Customer interface as required.

Specific Skills:
•    Previous Brushless DC Motor Design experience encompassing magnetics, mechanical packaging and manufacturing.  Experience in an Aerospace and/or Defense market preferred.
•    BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of motor design experience; MS preferred (5 years of experience)
