Job Description:

Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Document Coordinator position is an entry level position with the Food Safety & Quality Department at the manufacturing site for candidates showing an interest in pursuing a career in FS&Q and or Sanitation. Primary responsibilities include FS&Q program and project support through directed interaction with Production, Maintenance, and Warehousing personnel to identify, resolve, and limit FS&Q events. Incumbent will also assist with the design/plan/validation and implementation of new products, line extensions, product improvement and technical service strategies within the framework of the company as well as GFSI structured requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports quality team with respect to the facility's Food Safety Plan, Food Defense Plan, Food Quality Plan and related prerequisite programs including, but not limited to: formula control, mock trace and recall, consumer complaint management, GMPs, sanitation, pest control, allergen control, environmental pathogen control, sanitation effectiveness, calibration, document control, kosher, SPC, corrective and preventative actions, and verification and validation programs.
  • Conduct internal audits and assessments at specified cadence.
  • Assist Quality Team with Regulatory inspections, GFSI certification. Identity Preserved Certification Audits, and Customer visits as needed.
  • Represents the Food Safety & Quality department for continuous improvement initiatives. Supports compliance within the TreeHouse Management Operating System to help drive a culture of FS&Q and Continuous Improvement.
  • Assists with completion of Consumer Contact investigations and works with Quality Manager on responses.
  • Maintain and update the plant product specification database as directed.
  • Complete and documents ingredient shelf life extensions and dispositions through SAP and required documentation
  • Evaluate, records and communicate findings, including product attributes, formulations, processing parameters. Maintain results in an organized manner
  • Support pilot plant, plant trials and product start-ups in collaboration with scientists and pilot and operations staff. Includes coordination of ingredients, product and shipping needs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 0-2 years' experience in food manufacturing, scientific laboratory or similar industries is a plus.
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Familiarity in using continuous improvement tools and fundamentals.
  • Must possess sound problem-solving skills, be analytical, and creative to investigate problems in order to recommend and implement solutions.
  • Efficient computer skills; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and familiarity with programs such as SAP, Infinity-QS and Tracegains an asset.
