Job Responsibilities

Located in Branchburg, NJ

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Sr. Quality Specialist will achieve ALAM goals in the areas of manufacturing quality, technology advancement, productivity, off-spec elimination, non-conformance elimination, customer satisfaction, and cost reduction. The Sr. Quality Specialist will autonomously support all site groups in the form of data analysis and consolidation and the tracking and reporting of KPIs. The team member in this position will perform activities that ensure required quality and safety standards are being met for our products. Specifically, this role will focus on supply chain quality related to suppliers, toll manufacturing and affiliate manufacturing quality control.

  • Develop and manage the QA infrastructure necessary to have a robust supply chain process from new vendor evaluation through scale up and continuous improvement and monitoring of critical quality attributes.
  • Lead the evaluation of quality for new supplier and toll manufacturing companies for new products. Work with supply chain members to audit, evaluate, develop and monitor our supply chain vendor performance to meet our needs and the needs of the electronic chemical industry.
  • Manage QA & QC and manufacturing batch record information to disposition raw materials, work in process and/or finished goods. This can include the management of off spec inventory and resolution of quality related issues through leadership within material review board.
  • Maintain an effective system for CoA (certificate of analysis) generation for finished goods. This includes specification review and data analysis related to control limits and customer specifications for shipping limits. Also manages QA and QC MOCs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in at least two of the quality systems used within the business unit.
  • Establish and use effective work methods with production, maintenance, warehouse, and other functions to enable process and/or product optimization, problem prevention.
  • Ensure analytical systems are performing optimally, and identify and apply best practices across multiple sites.
  • Develops, reviews and revises metrics / measurements that monitor key plant quality control points to assure alignment among production capabilities, laboratory method capabilities, and customer needs. Create action plans to address KPIs that do not meet target.
  • Lead and support implementing corrective actions at vendor locations based upon supplier development and/or audit findings.
  • Assist in compliance and customer audits, in addition to leading internal audits.
  • Write, revise and review QA and QC work instructions, training tools, and forms.
  • Travel required to global supplier base, toll manufacturing facilities and ALAM sites.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a preference of Science or Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • An understanding of statistical analysis and quantitative problem solving tools and methods.
  • Auditing experience and the ability to travel <40% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in setting up systems and statistical methodologies to evaluate control limit data, customer complaint information, and other metadata sources.
  • Depth of knowledge and experience in one or more quality software systems (ERP, LIMs, Doc Control, Statistical Analysis Software)
  • Certified ISO 9001 auditor
